The second edition of Aarhus Calling follows up on last year’s success by presenting a string of award-winning producers who have worked with a number of American superstars including Kanye West, Jennifer Lopez and Chris Brown.
The main focus of Aarhus Calling is on exporting songs worldwide and break down international music barriers. The project acts as a gateway for talented songwriters and producers from all over the world to work with songwriting on a high level and to export songs to the European, Asian and American market.
In addition, the project aims to emphasize the songwriting industry as well as give the upcoming songwriters the network and opportunity they need to take their songwriting career to the next level. To do this Aarhus Calling will bring on three highly estimated and experienced American producers:
Che Pope – Award-winning hip-hop producer who has worked together with numerous prominent acts, among these The Fugees and Kanye West.
Damon Sharpe – Award-winning producer and songwriter – has worked with artists such as Ariana Grande and Jennifer Lopez.
Kendrick Dean – Grammy nominated producer and songwriter, who has been producing the work of e.g. Chris Brown and Usher.
On top of this spectacular American trio the team of producers also includes some of Denmark’s finest: Cutfather, Remee, Basim, and Niclas “Nik” Petersen.
Project manager and creator of Aarhus Calling, Rewan Riko is extremely proud of this year’s strong line-up of producers, who have accepted the invitation to make Aarhus the capital of songwriting between April 25 – May 1:
– It’s amazing that Aarhus can act as presenter of such top-class producers and songwriters. Yet again the city will boost upcoming songwriters by putting together an event that includes some of the most professional players in the business.
As a new thing the second edition of Aarhus Calling will involve a number of performances in the department store Magasin in the heart of the city. Rewan Riko sees this as an exciting opportunity to create a stronger connection between the artists, producers and the general public,
– We would like to to tell story of the songwriter and connect with the massive growth layer that’s really out there.
Finally Riko points out that this is a lasting project which hopefully will continue to support upcoming songwriters in the years to come – and maintain Aarhus’ newly gained position in the international search field.
Once again the project will include a conference during SPOT Festival – this year under the title “Your Roadmap To L.A.”. It takes place in the SPOT+ area, at RadissonBlu on Friday April 29, 16:30. Read more here.
