SPOT 2016 is approaching fast: 37 Nordic acts have been added to give a heads up on what Nordic music is currently all about.
First off there’s the cheerful folk pop from Norwegian Dagny, who has caught a great deal of attention with her single, “Backbeat”. The same cheerfulness can be found with fellow Norwegians Bloody Beach, though here combined with sounds of rock and psychedelia. We also present the well-known Danish DJ-collective Den Sorte Skole whose latest album was selected in the top-category on the list of the world’s best album in 2015 by LA Times, R&B/hip-hop duo Phlake, and Hisser from Finland, a new project from Miikka Koivisto after Disco Ensemble, one of the most internationally renowned Finnish bands in the 2000’s.
Also to be presented at SPOT 2016 is singer-songwriter Albin Lee Meldau (SE), the female duo Smerz (NO), pop from Sondre Justad (NO), indie folk with Axel Flovent (IS), punk-rockers The Kendolls (SE), hip-hop from Felix de Luca, the pop universe of Katinka, electronic music from Niilas (NO) and Kelvin (NO), and finally rock from Kernefamilien.
On top of that, the Danish, Norwegian and German partnership Urban Music Network will present five exciting and talented acts: Tom Klose (DE), JÆRV (DK), Gatwick (DE), $ushi x Kobe (NO), Kejser A (DK).
Finally, 16 other acts have been added in a collaboration with both a local venue and Karrierekanonen (the Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s talent project/ band contest): CaroLine, k-Phax, De Forbandede, Dør nr. 13, Franske Piger, Good Intentions, Hovedløs, Kawn, Lærke Emilie, Nikoline, OSIX, Perfect Plush, Clarissa Connelly, Collider, Modest and Tears.
