It’s time to break the very first acts for the SPOT Festival 2016 line-up. The Festival, which takes place on 28th-30th April, will present more than 100 Danish and Nordic acts.
First up is an impressive trio of acts:
Question: What band has been lauded by Pharrell Williams and has subsequently been signed by Adele’s record company XL Recordings already after the band’s second single? Answer: Liss (top picture). Check out the band’s beautiful, emotional pop when they play at SPOT for the very first time.
Then to Liima (bottom picture), consisting of three key members of internationally lauded Efterklang plus Finnish percussionist Tatu Rönkkö. The result is more electronic in sound and beats – but no less experimental, intriguing or coveted internationally.
And then we have Communions’ British-inspired indie rock, which has been picked up by NME and Pitchfork.
Add to that the Norwegian change-of-style party with the huge band KAKKMADDAFAKKA –veterans who still explore the unknown, The Entrepreneurs’s energetic and unpolished rock, and new acts such as Emilie Ramirez’s trap soul, Shy Shy Shy’s indie pop, Klub 27’s psych rock/rap, møl’s shoegaze/black metal, r’n’b soul collective M.I.L.K., and Danish-language darlings De Underjordiske. Oh yeah, the line-up is off to a great start!
