Moddi – Unsongs
Dokk1 – Store sal
Unsongs, 12 banned songs from 12 countries. Norwegian singer/songwriter Pål Moddi Knutsen (29) has set out on a dangerous journey on his new album, where he translates and interprets songs from imprisoned, exiled and murdered musicians from all over the world. His upcoming album ‘Unsongs’ simultaneously celebrates the censored and exposes the censors. “I asked myself the question: What does it take for a song to be censored? This album is the answer to that question.”
Before the concert Danish musicologist Steen Kaargaard Nielsen will talk about what music censorship is and what it implies, even in our part of the world (in Danish).
Part of the event ‘Music Is Language’, Saturday at Dokk1 in collaboration with Folkeuniversitetet.
