SPOT On Denmark is MXD’s and ROSA’s international extension of SPOT Festival: Foreign juries consisting of music industry professionals and journalists choose their favourite acts at the festival, who will then be promoted in another country.
In 2015, SPOT on Denmark will bring Danish bands and artists to the following festivals:
MaMA, Paris (France), 15th October: SPOT on Denmark will be part of MaMA’s official festival program. This new cooperation has been made possible through support from Statens Kunstfond, the Danish state funded arts foundation.
The French showcase festival attracts more than 4,000 visitors from the music industry, 30 % of which are international. Also the French press is represented in a large number, with more than 400 journalists visiting the festival and the around 100 showcase concerts.
Before the showcase concerts, a network reception with key players of the French music industry will be arranged by MXD in a cooperation with the MaMA Festival and a French PR-company.
The three Danish bands to play at SPOT on MaMA will be chosen by MaMA Festival and SPOT Festival cooperatively.
GLIMPS Festival, Ghent (Belgium), 11th December: Denmark was chosen to be the focus country for the Belgian showcase festival Glimps Festival, which will take place from December 10th – 12th in Ghent.
The focus on Denmark also includes a SPOT on Denmark night, that will take place as a part of the official program at the Handelsbeurs venue on Friday, 11th of December.
This event will consist of a network reception organised by SPOT Festival and MXD, followed by the presentation of the four Danish acts that were chosen cooperatively by Glimps and SPOT Festival.
