As the days are closing in for SPOT Festival 2016, five exciting and creative projects have been added to the programme. Together with these special events 19 acts have been added to the nearly complete programme.

Under his former alias Indians Søren Juul toured both Europe and the US and got a deal with the recognised label 4AD. Now he is back under his own name in order to create new music and fulfill his ambitions. From Finland we have added the charismatic rapper ViEW (FI) who is attracting attention from both Finnish and international medias. Currently he’s working on his full-length debut – scheduled to be released next year. Then there’s Hudna (picture) – a trio with backgrounds from both Denmark, Turkey and Israel. Their musical expression brings in vibes from The Middle East and different traditional arabic instruments spiced up with inspiration from Turkish and American folk music. Hudna is a prime example of the inspired and beautiful hybrids that arise in the meet-up between different cultures – the band has toured both Turkey and Denmark, including a performance at last year’s Roskilde Festival.

Also ready for SPOT 2016 are Konni Kass (FO), Mattis, Daniel Kvammen (NO), Asger, Techau, Tom & His Computer and Nórell.

In collaboration with our co-presenters we are happy to announce the following acts:

Way Up North presents Døde Blomster, Farveblind, Hollow Hollow, Long Line Down, and finally The Courettes, who besides playing this year’s Gutter Island Garage Rock Festival also played Reeperbahn Festival last year.
Bandbattle presents Tabu.
Thy Music Collective presents The Enormous Sea, Magnolia Shoals, Drengebande, Quick Quick Obey, and Artificial Brothers.

In addition to the approximately 175 concerts this year, SPOT Festival also presents five special events several of which will not be repeated anywhere else – read more about these special events here.
