CoolSPOT with J.Arlin in German Fashion Shops

This April the Danish artist J. Arlin will embark on a two-week tour performing in fashion shops throughout Germany. The tour is part of CoolSPOT – a new concept presenting Danish and Nordic music through collaboration between artists and German fashion retailers that focus on Danish and Nordic fashion products.

J. Arlins is an alias for Danish singer-songwriter Jeppe Gade – a strong newcomer in the Danish music business. His first single “New To Someone Else”, was written in New York, recorded in Copenhagen and finished in the legendary Abbey Road Studios, London with the prominent producer Sean Magee. The single received great recognition from several music blogs stating that the song has kicked off an even greater anticipation for more things from J.Arlin and his ability to combine the subtle “indie-vibe and a poppy catchy melody”.

Danish music and Danish fashion brands are getting an increasingly amount of recognition outside of Denmark. Danish artists are topping international music charts and big fashion brands as well as new DIY designers are gaining attention abroad. To celebrate this, and to help break new ground for both the music and the fashion, the two organisations behind SPOT Festival, ROSA – The Danish Rock Council together with MXD – Music Export Denmark, have initiated a tour concept under the moniker CoolSPOT.

“Music users are to be found lots of places. Also in lifestyle industries such as the fashion industry. Hence we are now moving forward in Germany with CoolSPOT, where we will collaborate with fashion shops in order to “brand” Danish music.“ – Gunnar Madsen, head of SPOT Festival.

Music and fashion is inextricably intertwined, and the match between up- and coming artists and fashion shops keen to stick out is ideal. This first tour is a test run, but the partners behind it aim to build up a strong and lasting platform in which young Danish artists can reach out to a new audience outside of Denmark.
