Baby in Vain

The recent additions for SPOT 2016 feature both experienced acts and what might be the shooting stars of tomorrow. The 22 newly added acts include some of the most interesting Danish artists right now plus a Swede and a Pole.

Among these you find Ida Gard, who has been lauded for her honest and superb pop music. Having recently finished a successful German tour, Ida returns to Denmark and SPOT to perform her songs, which tell stories of a young and independent woman going her own way. Then there’s Baby In Vain (picture) – inspired by the legends Black Sabbath and MC5, this female trio plays youthful and experimental rock, and has been characterized by NME as ‘stupidly exciting’. Drawing on similar sources of inspiration Go Go Berlin has managed to establish themselves as an energetic and powerful live act on stages all across Europe – having just wrapped up their recent tour on their way to SPOT.

Further on is a trio of experienced acts, who are going new ways as solo-artists after being part of successful groups; Kristian Leth – award-winning composer and former member of The William Blakes, Pernille Rosendahl – former lead singer of Swan Lee and The Storm, and Katrine Stochholm, who used to be singer and composer in Under Byen.

Last but not least, we have the alternative pop from Kill J, minimalistic rock from the duo Pale Honey (SE) and pop from both hasan shah and IRAH.

On top of that The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg presents: Vakle, among others, Who Is Louis, Olga Szymula (PL) and Moulder. And finally the local venue TAPE will present; Soft Armour, Maizena, Bit Crew, Assembler, Blod, Graceless and Internationale.
